FODZYME® is the world's first blend of enzymes that can break down FODMAPs.
FODZYME's novel, patent-pending enzyme blend breaks down the FODMAP molecules fructan, galacto-oligosaccharides and lactose into more easily digestible simple sugars when sprinkled on or mixed with high-FODMAP meals.
How does FODZYME® work exactly?
An enzymatic approach can allow people to benefit from nutrition without experiencing digestive discomfort, pain, or other symptoms. FODZYME enzymes are highly specialized proteins produced by microorganisms that break down certain substrates, in this case FODMAP molecules. FODZYME®'s novel, patent-pending enzyme blend breaks down FODMAP molecules such as fructan, galacto-oligosaccharides and lactose into more easily digestible simple sugars when sprinkled on or mixed with high FODMAP meals.
The effectiveness of FODZYME® was tested using SHIME®, a scientifically validated model of the human gut. The results showed that fructan was rapidly broken down into simple fructose, with ~90% of the inulin being broken down within 30 minutes. The study also showed that 70% of the fructose was absorbed during the simulated small intestinal transit time, reducing bloating. Which foods does FODZYME® help with?
FODZYME® helps you digest foods that contain the following FODMAPS: fructan, galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) and lactose.

On which foods does FODZYME® not work?
FODZYME® is not currently designed to support the digestion of foods containing polyols or large amounts of fructose.

Who should use FODZYME®? WILL it work for me?
FODZYME® does not target specific diseases, but FODZYME® enzymes break down triggering substances (fermentable fibers). Specifically, the enzymes in FODZYME® break down the fiber fructan, galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) and lactose. So if you know you are sensitive to foods containing these substances, you should try FODZYME®.
FODZYME® breaks down fructans into fructose and is therefore not suitable for people who are extremely sensitive to fructose or who suffer from hereditary fructose intolerance.
How is FODZYME® taken?
Sprinkle a 1/4 teaspoon (0.75 g) dose of powder onto the problem foods immediately before eating.
Re-dose: Add a second dose if you are still eating after 30 minutes.
Do not add to water - the powder works best when mixed directly with meals. Water can weaken the effect of the enzymes.
Chew and enjoy - chew well so that the enzymes combine with the FODMAPs and are activated immediately.
Do not heat - avoid using the powder when cooking as the enzymes are deactivated at very high temperatures.
